1) Shaniwar Wada Palace

Being one of the most visited historical places in Pune, Shaniwar Wada Palace, was built by Bajirao Peshwa I of the Maratha Empire in the 18th century. Famous for its horrifying history with murders, fire and wars, it is also considered as a haunted place. The shooting of the Bollywood movie ‘Bajirao Mastani’ made it more popular among the audiences. The travellers must witness the sound and light show organized every evening in Shaniwar Wada Palace. 2) Aga Khan Palace

Built by Sultan Muhammed Shah Aga Khan III in 1892, Aga Khan Palace is yet another famous tourist attraction of Pune, and is spread over an area of 19 acres. This monument has witnessed many historically significant incidents such as the imprisonment of Mahatma Gandhi, Kasturba Gandhi, Mahadev Desai and Sarojini Naidu, and even the death of Mahadev Desai and Kasturba Gandhi. This led to the declaration of Aga Khan Palace as a monument of National importance by the Archaeological Survey of India. 3) Vetal Tekdi

With an elevation of 2600 ft., Vetal Tekdi is the highest point of Pune, offering a panoramic view of the city. Adventure enthusiasts can trek and reach the hill top early in the morning or in the evening to watch the splendid sunrise and sunset. If not trek, then the travelers can also cycle or drive up to the hill. Bird watching is another popular activity available in the Vetal Tekdi. 

4) Pashan Lake

Located at the suburbs of Pashan hills, Pashan Lake is an artificial yet beautiful lake. It was built during the British era as a water reservoir. Enjoy the beautiful scenery, cool breeze while encountering unique birds such as gray heron, little egret, white-breasted kingfisher, open billed stork, etc. One could indulge in activities such as boating and fishing available here.  

5) Parvati Hill

Parvati Hill is the second highest point after Vetal Tekdi in Pune located 2100 feet above the sea level. One of the main reasons of this location being a popular tourist destination is the Parvati Temple.
